At level 4, I got my first quest for a totem. Not a bad quest to start you out on your way to becoming a master of totems later on. Basically it requires you to acquire some ritual salve from some bad shamans in the area for a concoction of sorts.
Once you get the slaves, you head back to town and the Shaman there whips it together and viola! a nice little drink for you so that you can now peer into the spirit world at such a young age in you Shaman’s career.
You head back to area with a large rock and drink your potion and a giant earth elemental pops out. You do a quick conversation with the big guy and he gives you a rock shard to take back to town. Once you get back, the Shaman there crafts for you your very first totem for you to carry around and cherish. Congratulations, now on to bigger and better things.
